About
I’m Scott Hogan publisher of capitalistmarks.com.
I got my formal education at Seoul American High School (Seoul, Korea), Brigham Young University and the University of Utah (B.S. Econ and MBA). I am also a continuing postgraduate student in the all important School of Rocks and Hard Knocks.
I traveled internationally for decades as CEO of a company that I founded, took public, and then private again. I’ve also consulted to some of the biggest companies in the world. I have taught College Economics and Finance, dealt with Fortune 500 CEO’s and bureaucrats/politicians from Senators to Ministers, have seen and appreciated honesty and integrity and been horrified by apparent greed and dishonesty.
I believe that politics, economics and social issues are inextricably interwoven. I like this earth and its people and I think we are obliged to take better care of both.
I’ve written two novels but only one got published. I have a sense of humor that has been described as equally cutting edge and over-the-top. I believe experience is fine, learning is good, knowledge is better, and intelligence (when all three merge effectively) is best. I love to engage in many sports but my body has limited me to golf for the time being.
I’ll share some of what I know, a good deal of what I think and you’ll never have to wonder where I stand on important issues. I won’t generally criticize without offering a solution or alternative.
I advocate moral living, whether taught by the Qu’ran, the Torah, the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Rig Veda, the Dhammapada or anything else that fits the bill since these sacred books encourages charity and kindness while discouraging hatred, oppression and intolerance.
I won’t post a blog everyday because there’s a difference between the important and the merely interesting. When I do write it will be because I think the topic is important and deserves clarification.
Tell me what you think and I will give your comments fair consideration.
